The Oncology Precision Therapeutics Core (OPTIC) is a shared resource here at Columbia University focusing on preclinical research. It assists scientists with imaging-based studies and translational science research. We are able to use imaging for functional analysis as well as phenotypic characterization which has become increasingly important for biomedical research. These imaging techniques are also noninvasive, which allows scientists to perform long term in vivo experiments. The goal of OPTIC is to provide access to a broad range of in vivo imaging technologies including molecular imaging technologies such as optical imaging, quantitative physiologic imaging with ultrasound, and anatomic imaging with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Most importantly, we provide expertise in planning, executing and analyzing in vivo imaging studies. if your lab is interested in establishing patient derived xenograft (PDX)models OPTIC also has the resources to assist users in their translational efforts. Please contact Chris Damoci to find out more information about the different imaging techniques or visit their website https://www.opticpdx.org/
